Ikoiwak made the announcement on Saturday in view of attack of INEC officials by party agents, who alleged that result sheets were fake.

Investigators have found the black box from a passenger plane that nose-dived and exploded into a fireball in southern Russia, killing all 62 people on board.

The Boeing 737-800, operated by budget airline flydubai, crashed while trying to land at Rostov-on-Don airport early on Saturday.

The plane was pulverised into tiny fragments, but experts managed to find both of the flight recorders undamaged.

The Benue State Government spends N170, 290, 870 as salaries on ghost workers every month.

Biometric Audit Consultant, Prince Mkpang, stated this while submitting the Report of Biometric Audit of Benue Civil Service to Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurdi on Tuesday.

Mkpang explained that after the Automatic Finger Print Identification, only 17,962 staff members were active employees in the state’s civil service.

The Kurdish militant group TAK says it carried out Sunday's deadly attack in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Frank Sinatra Jr, who followed in his famous father's footsteps to forge a career in music, has died of a heart attack while on tour in the US.

In a statement, his sister Nancy said: "The Sinatra family mourn the untimely passing of their son, brother, father, uncle Frank Sinatra Jr of cardiac arrest while on tour in Dayton, Florida."

The 72-year-old, who was his second child with Sinatra Sr's first wife Nancy Barbato Sinatra, had travelled there to perform his Sinatra Sings Sinatra show, where he did renditions of his father's greatest hits.

It was bloody yesterday when a suicide bomber entered a mosque during the subh (early morning prayer) and detonated her bomb, killing all the people at prayer, except the Imam, who was seriously injured.

The scene of horror was Umarari village near Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Another bomb was detonated outside the mosque. At the end of it all, 24 people, including the suicide bombers, died.

There are indications Louis Van Gaal and Ed Woodward have started planning for Manchester United's summer 2016 transfer assault, despite rumours that the Dutchman is facing the sack following a troubled second season as manager at Old Trafford.

A hypersonic aircraft three times faster than Concorde is a step closer to reality, manufacturers say.

Lockheed Martin says it is close to developing a military plane that flies at Mach 6 - six times the speed of sound, which travels at around 762mph (1,236km per hour).

The technology to create such aircraft has been discussed for years, but now the firm's engineers are said to be close to making a breakthrough.
