Pregnant British PM’s fiancee tests positive for coronavirus

Carrie Symonds, the pregnant fiancee of British prime minister Boris Johnson, has tested positive for coronavirus, reports in British media said on Saturday.

“I’ve spent the past week in bed with the main symptoms of Coronavirus. I haven’t needed to be tested and, after seven days of rest, I feel stronger and I’m on the mend,” Symonds said on Twitter.

Nigeria - Report from Punch says the patient who died in Lagos as a result of Corona Virus is a 55-year-old man. He died in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, hours after he was admitted, The Forefront has learned.



The hospital only discovered after his death that he had Coronavirus. A Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test was done on his blood posthumously and it tested positive for Coronavirus, the publication reports.

A Nigerian man has been shot dead for allegedly flouting a stay-at-home order aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus, police and a lawmaker said on Friday.





Nigeria has introduced a raft of measures, including lockdowns of major cities, to try to contain the virus, which has infected 184 people, two of them fatally.

Scare as new Coronavirus strain' which lasts for 49 days discovered in China

A new strain of Coronavirus discovered in China has raised fear of the virus lasting for 49 days. 


A team of researchers led by Dr Li Tan, of the General Hospital of Central Theater Command of PLA in Wuhan, made their announcement on medRxiv, a scientific website on to which medical papers are uploaded prior to being printed and scrutinised by peers.

Petrol marketers (IPMAN) agree to sell fuel for N123 to Nigerians

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) said they have agreed to sell petrol for N123 in compliance with government directive.

Nigeria - A doctor in the frontline of the COVID-19 treatment at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State, has contracted the disease, the President of the National Association of Resident Doctors, Dr. Aliyu Sokomba, has confirmed.

Sokomba revealed this on Channels Television’s daily magazine programme “Sunrise Daily” and in a series of tweet by the doctor’s colleagues on Twitter.

North Korea insists it is free of coronavirus

The temporary mortuary is under construction on Wanstead Flats, in Manor Park, east London, near the City of London crematorium and cemetery.
